The Chablis 'Les Montmains' Premier Cru from Domaine Laroche is a white wine from Burgundy. Intense and structured, it is made from the vinification of only Chardonnay grapes, sourced from the Chablis area, the global quality benchmark for this grape variety. After a careful and meticulous harvest, preceded by a rigorous manual selection, the must is fermented, as per Burgundian tradition, in wooden vats. Aging takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. This allows for a fruity and floral wine, fresh and intense, enveloping with a good mineral note, very faithful to the primary aromas of the grape. On the palate, it is elegant and harmonious, full-bodied, with structure, depth, minerality, and persistence. It has excellent aging potential.

THE COMPANY
Domaine Laroche is one of the most important wine producers in Chablis, in northern Burgundy. In addition to its excellent mineral wines made from the Chardonnay grape variety, the company has interests in more distant regions such as Languedoc, Chile, and South Africa.
The Domaine was founded in Chablis in 1850 by a vineyard worker, Jean Victor Laroche. After five generations in the family, Domaine Laroche has become one of the major producers of Chablis. It offers 6 hectares of grand cru vineyards with soils in Les Blanchots, Les Bougros, and Les Clos, in addition to another 30 hectares of premier cru vineyards. Despite these estates, 70 percent of Laroche's production is actually dedicated to the village of Chablis, including its flagship wine Saint Martin. There is also a single Petit Chablis in the Laroche portfolio. In 2014, Domaine Laroche launched a single vineyard village Chablis from Vieille Voye. This is an unknown practice as most of the village Burgundy is blended from multiple sites.
Recently, Michel Laroche has led an expansion of the name into new regions. An estate in Languedoc named Mas La Chevalièr offers regional varieties not present in Burgundy, including Syrah, Grenache, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier. In 2002, Laroche ventured into Chile with the property Viña Punto Alto which produces under the label Viña Laroche. The fruit comes from the Casablanca, Maipo, and Colchagua valleys and includes Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. In the same year, Laroche also acquired the winery L'Avener in South Africa.
In the early 2000s, Domaine Laroche became the first estate in Burgundy to adopt screw caps for its entire range, including all grand cru and premier wines. In 2009, the company merged with Languedoc negotiant Jeanjean to become Advini. Along with Domaine Laroche and its new global initiatives, Advini owns wineries throughout southern France, as well as in Bordeaux and the southern Rhône Valley.
