Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso
The organoleptic characteristics of the Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso wine are absolutely peculiar and unique, so as to have the reputation of "difficult" wine, which should be enjoyed and tasted several times to fully understand the flavors and smells. The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso vine has a particular history: the "pedicello", the so-called berry attachment, changes color before harvest and turns red, giving this name to the vine. Another of the characteristics of these grapes is the peel: very thin, of an intense and consistent blue color, it guarantees the wine the vivid violet reflections that characterize it during its entire aging process. From the organoleptic point of view, it has a beautiful garnet red, accompanied by vivid and suggestive violet reflections. It has an intense, pleasant aroma with hints of blackberry and cherry and a full-bodied, sapid, slightly tannic flavor with a pleasant aftertaste. In the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the reference territory for the production of excellence of Refosco, there are five DOCs: of this, the most important is that of the Grave del Friuli - to which La Delizia di Casarsa belongs - which produces the majority of this type of wine, followed by the Colli Orientali, the plain of Aquileia, the Isonzo plain and the Latisana area.
