What is Red Wine? Red Wine is obtained from the fermentation of must squeezed from red or black grapes. The color of the grape is necessary so that the wine can also be colored, to do this the red winemaking procedure is followed. The vinification in red comes from the full contact of the grape skins with the must, immediately after pressing and during fermentation. The tannins are almost totally contained in the skins, so the tannic component, the one that generates the sensation of astringency, of dry in the mouth is the property of red wines, while it is absent in whites.
