List of products by brand Salvatore d'Amico
Salvatore d'Amico farm is one of the oldest on the island of Salina and is a small family business, operating in the Municipality of Leni. The history of the company unfolds over three generations: grandfather Antonino Divola began in the early twentieth century, building the first winery in Valdichiesa and his daughters Nunzia and Grazia continued on his death. In 1972, her daughter Nunzia and her husband, Raffaele d’Amico, proceeded to renovate the current Leni cellar inside an old Aeolian house and to register the vineyards under no. 8 in the DOC register of Malvasia delle Lipari. In the same year, his son Salvatore, a winegrower and passionate lover of island traditions, decided to take care of the family business and in 1976, with the help of old precious manuscripts of his grandfather and the experiences gained by his parents, he produced a Malvasia of the highest level, relaunching the business with the new denomination Azienda Agrobiologica Salvatore d'Amico. Over the years, the land planted with vineyards has gradually increased to three hectares. The planting of new vineyards was particularly laborious, through the construction of terraced plants by restoring the old dry stone walls, along which caper plants grow spontaneously. From the vineyards the company obtains four real oenological pearls: the Malvasia delle Lipari, the Tenuta Ruvoli a Salina Rosso, the Tenuta Valdichiesa a Salina Bianco and the Léne a Salina Bianco.
