Domaine Louis Fleurot is a historic Burgundy winery, based in the prestigious town of Nuits-Saint-Georges. It was founded in 1810 but, for years, the main activity was that of "tonnellerie", that is, the manual construction of oak barrels. Successive generations have increasingly valorised the winemaking activity and today only very high quality barrels are produced for cellar use, without marketing them. A family of skilled coopers, "tonnelier" in French, has thus become over time a point of reference for excellent red Burgundy wines.
The Louis Fleurot winery is still family-run today and is considered one of the historic realities of Nuits-Saint-Geroges, with vineyards spread across 12 different AOC appellations, including Nuits-Saint-Geroges and Vosne-Romanée. In these plots of land, Pinot Noir reaches qualitative peaks that are unique in the world, expressing itself on very prestigious and very elegant labels. The owner Denis Bazart personally takes care of the agronomic and oenological management, thanks to a long family tradition that he has been able to make the most of, distinguishing himself in the French panorama for a strong territorial imprint.
Louis Fleurot's wines are distinguished by an elegant and subtle aromatic complexity which, in addition to giving depth to the sip, keeps it refined, pleasant and drinkable. The pleasantness of the fruit combines with spicy and undergrowth scents in a harmonious tasting that reveals the perfect integration between the suitability of the terroir, agronomic management, wise winemaking practices and masterful use of wood for ageing. The artisan spirit of a family of tonnelier winemakers is thus expressed in wines that embody the ancient and artisanal spirit of Burgundy, capable of exciting and exciting wine lovers from all over the world.
