List of products by brand Cristom
Cristom is located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, a sub-appellation of the better-known Willamette Valley AVA. Cristom is about 10 miles north of Salem and 10 miles south of Dundee. The winery is located approximately 36 miles east of the Pacific Ocean and approximately 65 miles west of the Cascade Range; about half a mile from the 45th parallel. The lands are mainly rich in volcanic material and very well drained. The area features cool afternoon breezes blowing off the Pacific Ocean. This wind blows directly east and makes its way through the Van Duzer Corridor which is the lowest point in the Pacific Coast Range. Paul and Eileen Gerrie founded Cristom in 1992: for 22 years they have been known for producing balanced and eloquent Pinot Noir, a sincere expression of the territory. The logo of the Cristom winery was commissioned from the artist Timothy Tyler and looks like a sort of coat of arms; the name Cristom honors that of Gerrie's two children, Christine and Tom. While the vineyards owned were named after the women of Gerrie's family. Of the 130 hectares of property, 24 hectares are vinified. The company has been growing sustainably since 1992 and today both the vineyards and the winery have earned the sustainability certificate of Oregon's LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) program.
