Lelarge family boasts a long relationship with the Champagne area (18th century) and in particular with the terroirs of Vrigny, a productive enclave a few kilometers from Reims. In 1987 Dominique Lelarge took control of the family Maison and by marrying Dominique Pugeot he changed the company name to Lelarge Pugeot. The company currently owns about 9 hectares in the municipalities of Vrigny, Gueux and Coulommes-la-Montagne. This area, ampelographically dominated by Pinot Meunier (80% of the plants), was classified as Premier Cru in 2003. The Lelarge family has been working with an eye to sustainability since the end of the 1980s and obtained organic certification in 2010. ; at the end of 2012 the conversion to Biodynamic agriculture began.
