Located in the heart of the Champagne region, in Mardeuil, near Epernay, the Maison Beaumont des Crayères was founded in 1955 and today brings together a significant number of winemakers (250) for a total of 90 hectares of vineyards located in Epernay and in the neighboring areas of Cumières, Hautvillers and Dizy, in Trépail or Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger.
The name Beaumont des Crayères derives from "Beaumont" the name of one of the best coteaux of Mardeuil on which the main vineyards of the company grow and "crayères" which refers to the composition of the rock present in the best crus of Champagne, or chalk. The name was chosen precisely for this reason, for the great pride and attachment to this terroir, the attachment which is also represented by the rose found in the center of the company logo.
Three great grape varieties used for the production of champagne are grown: Chardonnay (25%) which gives freshness and finesse; Pinot Noir (15%) which gives structure and body; and Pinot Meunier (60%) which gives the wines aromatic sweetness and roundness.
The vinifications: are performed separately, which means that each variety is vinified in separate tanks, and the different pressings come from different selections of bunches from the different portions of the vineyard. This separate vinification is the key to the quality of this Maison's champagnes; allows you to apply a rational enology to each cuvée, and at the time of blending will offer a wide range of wines.
For the prestigious cuvée Nostalgie, a part of the wines is aged in wood.
