Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 'Quintessenz' by Cantina di Caldaro Kaltern is a red wine of thickness, density and expressive depth. It is part of the Kaltern high-end line, one of the most important and representative realities of the South Tyrolean territory. Blend composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (95%) and Merlot (5%) grapes from a single vineyard. The must remains on the skins for about 4 weeks in oak barrels, followed by 18 months of aging. A Riserva with a layered bouquet: the wild fruit blends with cinnamon and noble wood, accents of tobacco, chocolate and licorice. Intensity and facet on the palate with powerful and soft tannins. Tobacco finish for this Cabernet of character. Wine with great charm and magnetic personality.

Kellerei Kaltern is a historic cooperative that represents the entire municipality and its wine producers. It is the mouthpiece of the wines that are born near Lake Caldaro and, in particular, of the Kalterersee (Schiava) variety. These are typical bottles produced by a large community with sensitivity, passion and competence: fine, complex and wonderfully simple to love. The winery, which has its roots in the distant 1900s, took more than a century to become what it is now and what it represents: professionalism, passion, sense of belonging, experience and high quality standards. Today it is one of the most important realities in South Tyrol and the wine community of Caldaro itself, the best known and most loved in the region, is proud of its fame. In this small patch of land, wine is the great protagonist of the life of the community: it has given and still gives work, fills the inhabitants and farmers with pride and is a full-time professional commitment for many inhabitants, pursued with great passion in many areas. different, whether in the vineyards, in the cellar, in the gastronomy or in the trade.
The Kaltern Winery is a large family that has 650 winegrowing members, most of whom own less than one hectare of land (on average 0.7 hectares, which correspond to a football field), for a total of 450 hectares. They are winemakers out of passion and love, who earn their living exercising other professions and delight in the art of winemaking during their free time. Part of Kaltern's striking charm certainly comes from this.
Cantina Kaltern wines come from the oldest DOC area of South Tyrol and mature in the best soils surrounding Lake Caldaro. They are the result of great sensitivity, passion, and the use of cutting-edge techniques. There are three quality lines: Quintessenz - The most important line, born from the best vineyards on the property. Selection - from carefully chosen vineyards to bring a world of sensations to the glass. Classics - express the most authentic character of the territory and of the grapes. Let yourself be captivated by the wines of Lake Caldaro that express the most carefree joy of drinking.
