'Insoglio del Cinghiale Campo di Sasso' by Tenuta di Biserno, founded in 2001 by the Marquis Lodovico Antinori, eager to invest in the terroir of the Upper Maremma, is the cornerstone of the company. Blend of international vines only, Syrah 30%, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, expertly assembled to give a balanced and quality Supertuscan, very fresh on the palate. Notes of small red fruit and spicy sensations, references to aromatic herbs and balsamic aroma. Finely smooth and round tannin. Perfect wine to be paired with succulent game dishes.

Lodovico Antinori, the genius of Ornellaia and Masseto, after taking his wines to the highest peak that exists, got back into the game, aiming perhaps even higher this time. In 1995, in fact, Lodovico Antinori himself discovered the land of the Biserno Estate, and initially thought of incorporating the plots precisely with those of the Ornellaia Estate, only to change his mind after realizing that the nature and size of the land required a separate wine project.
We are one step away from Bolgheri, in the Alta Maremma, and Lodovico immediately understood the high potential of this area for Bordeaux cuts. For the Marquis, "the vineyards of Bibbona and Bolgheri meet, recalling those of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol". The estate consists of a single large vineyard, called Bellaria, which in the southern area belongs to the territory of Bolgheri, while in the northern area it falls within the Biserno area. It is here that the Lodovico vineyard extends: six hectares of land now considered by all to be the most suitable in the area.
Among the rows, there are mainly cabernet franc plants, to which small percentages of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot vines are added, to complete the vine composition. On soils of an alluvial nature, rich in limestone, calcium carbonate and pebbles, and enjoying a microclimate refreshed by constant breezes, precious and pure grapes are cultivated and harvested, concentrated in every smallest organoleptic nuance. Part of Biserno is also a second estate, Campo di Sasso, adjacent to the first and consisting of three vineyards, where the syrah finds ideal growing conditions. In the cellar, the oenological consultancy is entrusted to Michel Rolland, the oenologist to whom so many wineries in the world owe their fame, including many of the largest Château in Bordeaux.
All this translates into four names, such as "Biserno", "Lodovico", "Insoglio del Cinghiale" and "Il Pino di Biserno": four wines, which speak of the highest enological excellence, expressed by one of the most historic families in the wine scene international.
