Nebbiolo d'Alba 'Roccheri' by Marchesi di Barolo is made from medium-textured clayey limestone hills and extracts an abundance of trace elements that enrich its structure; from the soils rich in quartz sand and silt it draws fragrant and fruity aromas: the result is a wine that combines body with elegance, fruitiness with fullness and harmony. It matures for a few months in oak barrels to complete its evolution, refining its harmony and increasing the breadth of the bouquet. The maturation plateau is between 2 and 8 years.

Marchesi di Barolo is a winery that boasts a centuries-old history of over 150 years and which still today represents a symbolic and reference brand in the gigantic Piedmontese wine world. The winery is located in the municipality of Barolo, a very small village of less than 700 inhabitants where the extraordinary Castello dei Marchesi stands. It is a centuries-old building which is the symbol and genesis of Barolo.
In 1807 the Marquis Carlo Tancredi Falletti married the French noble Juliette Colbert Maulévrier, great-granddaughter of the Sun King. Juliette was the first to understand the potential of the Nebbiolo grown in these lands and noticed how the use of wooden barrels brought depth and longevity to the wine . Upon the death of her husband at the end of the 19th century, in the absence of heirs, the estate was first managed by his wife and then taken over by Pietro and Ernesto Abbona, two young boys who worked in the cellars at the foot of the castle.
After five generations the Marchesi di Barolo are still led by the Abbona family. The Marchesi di Barolo winery extends over 200 hectares and owns land not only in the Langhe but also in Roero and Monferrato. Marchesi di Barolo aims to create unique, high-quality wines that interpret the diversity of places and are faithful readers of vintage, territory and grapes.
