Saint Émilion Grand Cru Classé by Château de Ferrand is an elegant and intense red, which perfectly reflects the tradition of the terroir. It is the winery's flagship wine, a prestigious bottle. It was born on the Saint-Hippolyte plateau and each parcel is vinified separately. The wine matures for a period of 14-18 months in French oak barriques. The harmonious blend combines the fruity softness of Merlot with the freshness and tension of Cabernet Franc. A wine of great balance with a refined bouquet, which offers aromas of small berries, hints of spice and medicinal herbs. Intense and structured, with a deep and complex sip, perfect ripeness of the fruit, velvety tannins. Long and very persistent, it closes on fresh and fruity notes.

The history of the Château de Ferrand winery begins in the early 18th century, the owner and founder was Elie De Bétoulaud, lawyer, poet and patron of the arts, great friend of King Louis XIV. With the aim of recreating the atmosphere of the Palace of Versailles he built and founded Chateau De Ferrand, divided into various rooms, tunnels and hectares of land; passed down for generations until 1978.
In this year Baron Bich purchased the Château de Ferrand property, which despite her death shortly after her remained the property of the family and still today of the owner Pauline Bich Chandon-Moët together with her husband Philippe Chandon-Moët. Together they manage this Chateau with ambitious projects, in fact since 2010, the Ferrand castle has undergone important works; The vineyard is renovated and replanted after an accurate ampelological study of the soil and an adaptation of the vines to the terroir. Cultivation methods are redesigned as are winemaking buildings; the cellars are modernized, the vats multiplied and adapted to allow better management of the plots.
In 2012 the family's commitment paid off: Ferrand became a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé. The property today extends for 42 total hectares of which 32 are under the denomination and classification Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, the cultivated vines are: Merlot 70%, Cabernet Franc 29% and Cabernet Sauvignon 1%.
