Terrazas de Los Andes is an Argentine winery located in Perdriel and manages a magnificent estate with vineyards cultivated at the foot of the majestic peaks of the Andes mountain range. Argentine viticulture has very ancient origins and its symbolic grape, Malbec, was introduced into the country in the mid-nineteenth century. The winery was created in 1898 by Sotero Arizu, but the recent history of Terrazas de Los Andes began in 1960, when the famous French group Moët & Chandon decided to invest in Argentina, aware of the extraordinary potential of this land. The estate is divided into several vineyards, located in particularly suitable areas, in Luján de Cuyo in Mendoza and in the Uco valley.
The winery is located in an absolutely unique territory, within a wild and extreme natural context. The vineyards are located at altitude, on poor and rocky soil, low in organic matter. The climate is very sunny, with hot days and cold nights, which favor slow maturation and allow high acidity to be preserved. Each variety is grown in the most suitable area for soil and microclimate, in order to obtain excellent quality grapes. The vineyards are divided into various parcels so as to be able to carry out precision viticulture and highlight the nuances of the terroir. The property is divided into numerous farms, which constitute individual and particular production units.
