Barolo by Massolino is made in Piedmont, in Serralunga d'Alba from Nebbiolo grapes grown between 320 and 360 meters above sea level, from vineyards with ages ranging between 10 and 55 years. Fermentation takes place on the skins in steel for approximately 15 days and refinement in oak barrels for 30 months. At the end of this production process the wine presents a classic and traditional profile, characterized by a severe elegance. It is one of the most beautiful expressions of the Serralunga d'Alba area, thanks to the wide range of aromas that ranges from fruity to floral notes, and an intense and complex spiciness. Great personality, austere, structured and persistent, it represents the true character of the Langhe.

The history of the Massolino winery begins in 1896, the year in which Giovanni founded the company in Serralunga d'Alba. The first actual cellar, however, was built by Giuseppe, Giovanni's son, who together with his sister Angela extended the property by annexing other lands and in 1934 founded the Barolo and Barbaresco Protection Consortium. Giovanni, Camilla and Renato, three of Giuseppe's children, led the company to a turning point, thanks to the purchase of crus that are now true legends among enthusiasts: Vigna Rionda, Margheria and Parafada.
Today the company is led by brothers Franco and Roberto Massolino, assisted by their uncle Renato and Giovanni Angeli. Their work condenses the experience of an entire generation and the ambition of those who know they have to give credit to a historic winery and a unique terroir, that of Serralunga d'Alba. In this picturesque medieval village, located on one of the splendid hills of the Langhe, in the heart of the Barolo production area, the life of the Massolino winery comes alive, now an essential national point of reference for the production of very high quality wines.
"Making wine with passion, in its territory of origin, preserving the typical nature of the native vine in the belief that between the vines, the hills and the winemakers there exists a deep and palpable bond, made of loyalty cemented by custom to the same places. Since 1896 the The Massolino family produces wine this way, faithful to this philosophy and the ability to innovate in the name of tradition. Ultimately, faithful to itself." These are the words that describe the philosophy of the Massolino winery, a winery animated by love for its territory and its vineyards, always faithful to a family tradition that is now more than centuries old.
