Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru 'Les Estournelles Saint Jacques' by Closerie des Alisiers is made in one of the most suitable parcels in Burgundy. It is produced from pure Pinot Noir grapes, and in the vineyard no chemical or synthetic substances are used, while in the cellar we proceed equally rigorously with alcoholic fermentations which take place in wooden containers, and refinement for 15 months in partly new oak barrels. The olfactory bouquet presents varied references, ranging from berries to dog rose, from sweet spices to licorice, with a light, delicious and very well integrated toasted note. When tasted, it combines power and finesse, characterized by a velvety and sensual tactility. Only 1,500 bottles produced per year.

Stephane Brocard, son of Jean Marc Brocard, a well-known Chablis winemaker, settled in Marsannay, in the north of the Côte de Nuits, in 2007. Here he founded the Maison Stephane Brocard and his brand of hand-selected wines, Closerie des Alisiers. In addition to his work in his vineyards in Pommard and the old village of Daix, he has been working for years with the same winemakers and the same soils for the wines he produces.
His philosophy is to produce genuine and authentic wines with the utmost respect for the environment. He seeks purity, fruit and freshness. The range includes the regional, village, premium Cru and Grand Cru appellations of Burgundy, from Chablis to Mâconnais, passing through many of the best appellations of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Stéphane Brocard seeks to highlight terroirs through Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties.
Recently he has also introduced a selection of organic wines. His company has obtained the organic farming certificate.
Closérie des Alisiers owns 2 hectares in Pommard and Daix (north of the Côte de Nuits). For the production of wines with the Closérie des Alisiers label, it has various production partners for the different appellations.
