Located on the steep banks of the Douro, in the heart of this valley that gave birth to the best wines of Portugal, Quinta Do Pessegueiro. Imagined by Roger Zannier almost 30 years ago, Quinta do Pessegueiro is made up of three plots - Pessegueiro, Teixeira and Afurada - which produce exceptional wines and ports (red and white). The cellar, located in the heart of the estate, stands out for its extraordinarily modern architecture which derives above all from the particular winemaking method it hosts. The five-story building combines traditional production methods with the most sophisticated equipment: to turn grapes into wine, no mechanization, only natural gravity is used. The result is dry and port wines of the highest quality. The Douro is a land that man married with vines more than two thousand years ago. To bear exceptional fruit, the vines must sink their roots as deep as possible through the cracks of the shale and slate in search of the water table, and find one of the most balanced water reserves. The varied nature of the lands, the climatic nuances, the diversity of attitudes and the exposure of the plots contribute to the unparalleled complexity of Quinta Do Pessegueiro wines. In the cellar the wines are separated by plots. This allows us to recognize each of their singular characteristics, and to trace the specific traits and nuances of their territory. In this way the wine develops in the most natural way possible.
