The company La Sibilla is located in the province of Naples, in the heart of the Phlegraean Fields and a few steps from the Antro della Sibilla Cumana. This winemaking reality owes its birth to the Di Meo family and in particular to one of its ancestors, who over a hundred years ago decided to move here and start to breed vines. Today La Sibilla has about 10 hectares of vineyards; in the vineyards are present native centenary falanghina and piedirosso grapevines clinging, according to tradition, to chestnut piles and still today in full production. Meo's family, guardian of an enoic heritage handed down from generation to generation and cultivating their vines always moved by the passion for the land and its products; two years ago, moreover, Vincenzo Di Meo, globetrotting enologist who currently leads the company, has also started the recovery of other native vines such as 'a level,' a surcella and in Marseilles: the primary objective is always to produce wines with a taste and taste of the past, making protagonists, together with modern technologies, also the ancient traditions. The vines, grown on sandy soils of volcanic origin and immune to phylloxera, are a true vegetable museum. Divided into two main bodies, the first near the winery and the second near the Roman villa, known as Villa di Cesare, in the WWF naturalistic Oasis, they give excellent wines with peculiar characteristics, preserving the territory and sometimes saving it from 'abandonment and abusiveness. Following the vocation of the territory and loving the work in the vineyard, in La Sibilla you get wines with a strong personality, to be appreciated precisely because they are never equal to themselves, if not in quality. Always fresh, fragrant and wonderfully expressive, these wines are the best possible ambassadors of a territory yet to be discovered where, to give rhythm to life, only traditions, seasonality, values and knowledge.
