Barbaresco 'Vallegrande' by Ca' del Baio is produced in the heart of the Langhe, where the vines planted from 1963 to 2000 grow on gray calcareous-sandy marl. Their most traditional Barbaresco is born from the vineyards surrounding the company, matured, as in the past, exclusively in large barrels. It best expresses the elegance of the wine without showing the muscles of the Nebbiolo. Red wine with an intense aroma, with enveloping notes of fruit, withered flowers and scents of undergrowth; dry, velvety and harmonious flavour, closing with a warm and appropriately tannic finish. It is easily suited to roasted or terrine meats, to mature cheeses or cooked in fondue, to meat and vegetable soups.

Ca' del Baio winery is located in Treiso, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of the Langhe Albesi. It was founded way back in 1880 but the credit for its recent success goes to Giulio Grasso, the generations that immediately preceded him and the one that is following him, made up of his daughters Paola, Valentina and Federica, already ready to follow in their father's footsteps in the vineyard and in the cellar.
The production philosophy, which has as its objective perfect harmony with their territory, is summarized in the words of Giulio: "The wine is made in the vineyard, where the typical nature of the vine is preserved, the old clones are looked after, the work is done with passion and experience, day after day, season after season". Peasant concern, excellent displays, only one weeding per spring, simplicity, no tricks or shortcuts and a lot of common sense are the main ingredients of Ca' del Baio, the recipe for producing typical and territorial wines capable of establishing themselves, due to their natural beauty, in a landscape as crowded and competitive as that of Barbaresco.
The vineyards of the Ca' del Baio winery extend for 25 hectares, distributed in the territories of Treiso and Barbaresco. Furthermore, the Nebbiolo vineyards of Barbaresco are divided into the 4 crus of Valgrande, Marcarini, Asili and Pora. Here, thanks also to the important consultancy of Giuseppe Caviola, qualitatively magnificent wines are born, which reflect the territory they belong to and the fruit from which they are born. These are wines with character and personality, with an unmistakable style, well balanced between strength and elegance.
