'Bòggina C' Riserva by Petrolo is the 'Grand-Cru' of Sangiovese, an organic red wine of great class and depth, born from old vines planted in 1951-52 and grown in the heart of the Val d'Arno. Pure Sangiovese, it comes from the best vineyards and is aged for 16/18 months in 22 hl barrels and 7 hl tonneaux of rigorously selected French oak. Complex and layered aromas, fruity notes, enriched by nuances of withered flowers, spices and touches of lavender and tobacco. Elegant and refined sip, deep, full-bodied, austere and material texture, thanks to the excellent integration of tannins in the general structure. A red with a multifaceted and complex soul, both on the nose and in the mouth, for an extraordinary drink. Only 6,500 bottles produced.

Petrolo winery is located in the province of Arezzo, in the municipality of Mercatale Valdarno, among the green Tuscan hills. The estate was part, in the Middle Ages, of the Galatrona fiefdom, as evidenced by the ancient tower, from which the Petrolo wines take their name, and the parish church that contains a baptismal font by Giovanni della Robbia. Belonging to the Bazzocchi-Sanjust family for four generations, the Petrolo estate covers over 270 hectares, of which about thirty are currently planted with vines, while twenty are dedicated to the cultivation of olive trees. Since the second half of the 1980s, the objective of the Petrolo winery has been that of the absolute quality of the wines produced, starting from the understanding and interpretation of the enormous potential of the territory. Today the rows are conducted according to the rules of organic farming. A complete and harmonious range of labels, expressive and particularly faithful to the terroir of origin, as well as constantly striving towards the highest quality levels. Simply extraordinary wines.
