Etna Rosso by Tenute Mannino is a classic blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio characterized by the typical volcanic minerality. Grapes harvested from 60-120 year old vines located on the slopes of the volcano in Contrada Bragaseggi on the northern side of Etna, at an altitude of 600 m.a.s.l.. It ages 12 months in large French oak barrels. It is a wine with a bright ruby red color, an intense aroma with pleasant floral, pomegranate and graphite hints. Elegant tannins and a good juice release all the power and minerality of the volcanic terroir. It pairs well with red meats and game, important first courses and mature cheeses.

The manor estate, Tenuta del Gelso, has been an extraordinary and innovative winemaking laboratory since the early 19th century. From here, from the Catania plain, Baron Franz Mannino made his wine known in Europe and North America, also obtaining prestigious awards at various universal exhibitions. During the grape harvest, the palmento, one of the oldest in the area, was the site of a real family celebration in which all the inhabitants of the House took part: from joyful children to friends and neighbors who flocked to Tenuta del Gelso to immerse themselves in a riot of smells, lights and colors until late at night. Giuseppe Mannino has given new life to the family business and to the Etna Doc denomination, building an active and dynamic business reality. Now in its sixth generation, his son Giorgio is now leading a solid and established winemaking and agricultural business reality. A company that is the guardian of ancient traditions, but also capable of looking to the future and ahead of its time. The living rooms of the Villa still echo the conversations held by its inhabitants with Giovanni Verga or Ettore Majorana, tangible evidence of the reputation of Tenute Mannino as a family of patrons.
