Alto Adige DOC Pinot Nero Riserva 'Lafoa' 2021 (750 ml.) Colterenzio

Pinot Noir from the prestigious 'Lafòa' line by Colterenzio is a full-bodied and elegant red wine, a true excellence of the Alps. It comes from the grapes of the same name used in purity, grown in vineyards of three different plots located at 400 meters above sea level on lands of morainic origin. Alcoholic fermentation in wooden barrels for 3 weeks at a controlled temperature and malolactic fermentation in wood, aged for 12 months in new barriques and second and third passage barriques. Bouquet with notes of small red fruits, berries, orange peel, red flowers and hints of toasting and spices. When tasted it has a linear, refined and structured texture, with dense and delicate tannins. Perfect in combination with red meats, stews, roasts, first courses of land, mature cheeses and white meats.

Colterenzio_870x360.jpg

The wines from the hamlet of Colterenzio were favourites of Archduke Sigismund when he resided at Firmiano Castle in the 15th century, though the area was producing fine wines much earlier. Around 15 b.C. a Roman country gentleman named Cornelius settled here and established his "Cornelianum" wine estate and the first wine culture in the area. The Roman name eventually evolved into "Cornaiano", the village Colterenzio calls home. The Colterenzio winegrowers' co-operative was founded by 28 vintners in 1960. Over the years other passionate viticulturalists from diversified micro-zones in the area joined the collective, and today nearly 300 members cultivate approximately 300 hectares of vineyards.
