Lazio IGP Syrah 'Ogra' 2018 (750 ml.) Famiglia Cotarella

The pure Syrah 'Ogrà' by Famiglia Cotarella is produced after years of experience with the Syrah variety matured in the vineyards of the winery. The one in the municipality of Castiglione in Teverina was selected for the production of this wine. The particular location and composition of the soil have allowed us to obtain very ripe and phenolic-rich grapes. The wine is aged in French oak barriques for 18 months. Intense red in color. Notes of rose petal emerge on the nose, then ripe cherry, then spices and sweetness of vanilla. On the palate it is rich, full, a wine that envelops. Soft tannins, very intense finish. Perfect in combination with rich and tasty dishes such as game, red meats and stews.

CTR-OGRA'-2018

The link between the Cotarella Family and the world of wine originated in the 1960s, when Antonio and Domenico Cotarella, winemakers in Monterubiaglio, a hamlet in the municipality of Castel Viscardo in the province of Terni, built the first winery for their own wine production. . The brothers Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella, both winemakers who grew up in a land of long winemaking traditions, driven by the passion of their father Domenico, then founded the current "Falesco" in 1979, transforming what used to be a small family business into a wine company. successful, to be left to later generations.

It is here, between Umbria and Lazio, that wines of unquestionable charm are born, characterized by a contemporary style and at the same time characterized by a particular longevity. Wines that in a few decades have become ambassadors of Italian wine in the world.

The company currently extends over an area planted with vines covering approximately 280 hectares, to which a further ninety hectares currently rented should be added. In a hilly area characterized by soils of volcanic origin, both autochthonous and international grapes are cultivated, whereby among the rows we find plants of aleatico, trebbiano, malvasia, verdicchio, sangiovese and vermentino, and again of merlot, syrah, viognier and cabernet. Bunches bred in full respect of the environment and ecosystem, which in the cellar are processed using the most modern and advanced oenological instruments, always used without ever distorting what the terroir and the season have come to express in the fruit.
