Franciacorta is located in the heart of Lombardy, a stone's throw from Milan, overlooking the shores of Lake Iseo, in an area of about 200 square kilometers that includes 19 municipalities in the Province of Brescia. Franciacorta is an ideal sparkling wine for the whole meal. The extraordinary quality, pursued and achieved by the producers, makes this wine perfect for important occasions: from the aperitif to the main courses, from the simplest to the most complex. The table in Franciacorta is a very pleasant discovery: in this land of great wines an equally prestigious restaurant has established itself, which moves between tradition and experimentation, and which is intertwined with a tasty and rooted local cuisine. In '67 came the recognition of the Franciacorta denomination, wanted by a small group of producers, encouraged by the new Italian laws regarding the designation of origin. Pinot di Franciacorta DOC was obtained from Pinot Bianco grapes with the possibility of adding Pinot Grigio and Pinot Nero, with natural refermentation in the bottle or in the tub. In the 1980s Chardonnay freed itself from Pinot Blanc and confirmed its perfect harmony with the land of Franciacorta.
