The Ultimate Whiskey Company's Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 'Unnamed Orkney' 2006 14 Years is quite acute with hints of heather and dried fruit, typical of the Orkney Islands. Very dry on the palate with the fleshy notes of Sherry amplified. It is best enjoyed with a splash of water and a little patience to become very compelling, slightly peaty and seductive. Aged 14 years in ex Sherry barrels, it is bottled without cold filtration, to keep all the original flavors. No caramel is added, so the color always matches the barrel of origin. Since the barrels are different every time, the character of the product can change constantly. Each bottle is numbered and all the details of the barrel are mentioned on the label. Only 940 bottles produced.
