Alto Adige 'Liebenstein' by Baron Longo is a cuvée of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc very representative of the territory of Bassa Atesina. The vines grow on soils formed by limestone deposits at an altitude of about 250 m, with a mild Mediterranean microclimate. After a whole year in small oak barrels, it gives in the glass a white with a straw yellow color and displays aromas of exotic fruits. It is no less on the palate where the cuvée is graceful, elegant and particularly persistent. The ideal companion for an aperitif or to accompany light appetizers, or delicate fish dishes. A natural wine, which stands out for its finesse, nobility and elegance.

The historic Baron Longo estate is located in Egna, in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of Südtirol and its centuries-old wine tradition dates back to the distant 1600. Around 1770, the Baron Longo family bought Palais Longo and the surrounding land, which were the first to compose the current vineyard. During the last decades the grapes produced by the family were harvested and sold to the local wineries, until, in 2015, the young Anton von Longo-Liebenstein took over from his father in the management.
Anton decided to focus on returning to winemaking on his own, starting with the renovation of the cellar, according to current standards, which is located in the splendid historic residence of Palais Longo.
Its philosophy is to refer to the centuries-old tradition of these places by revisiting it in a contemporary key, favoring sustainable methods and processes. The 20 hectares of vineyards are located at altitudes ranging from 220 meters at the bottom of the valley to 1040 meters, and the soils are enriched with minerals from the nearby glacier. The cultivation is carried out according to the rules of organic viticulture, with ABICert certification from 2020. Another of the criteria that distinguish the production is the varietal purity of the cultivated vines, which range from white grapes such as chardonnay, pinot bianco, gewürztraminer, solaris and pinot gris, to those with black grapes such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot and lagrein. Fermentation takes place in open wooden vats and stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in barriques, barrels and tonneaux.
The extraordinary wines of the Baron Longo winery, with their unique character and flavor, are born from the combination of the excellent quality of the grapes and the characteristics of the terroir, combined with the great passion and constant commitment to aim for excellence.
