Toscana Bianco IGT 'Le Ginestre' 2020 (750 ml.) - Castellare di Castellina

'Le Ginestre' by Castellare di Castellina is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes grown in vineyards located between 350 and 400 meters above sea level. Fermentation and maturation in contact with the noble lees are carried out in French oak barrels. A very pleasant wine to drink, where the depth of the Chardonnay and the aromas of the Sauvignon blanc come together in a delicate and savory at the same time. Classic with fish and crustaceans, interesting with white meats, also perfect in combination with typical Tuscan cold cuts, of which it manages to cleanse the fatness and harmonize the aromas.

Historical company of the Chianti Classico, Castellare di Castellina is born in today's form in 1968 thanks to the fusion of 5 different farms. A magical place where the vineyards, 33 hectares, are perfectly integrated into the environment, between forests and other crops. An area where good exposure, good water drainage, soils of limestone marc, galestro and little clay have always been well-structured, intense wines and suitable for a long aging in the bottle. The cellar has been owned by the entrepreneur Paolo Panerai since the late 70's, which immediately begins a long search path to improve all its labels. A careful census of vines, undertaken immediately after the purchase, has for example allowed to select the best species of sangiovese for the Sodi di San Niccolò, wine symbol of the company. Not only that: an experimental plot planted in the property in collaboration with the University of Milan and Florence and the San Michele all'Adige Institute allows continuous research on the best clones as well as the production of vines selected for the renewal of the vineyards. The Castellare Castellina world has grown in time, in fact in 2004, in the heart of Maremma, in partnership with Les Domaines Baron de Rothschild-Lafite, was born Rocca di Frassinello. A splendid estate along the Tuscan coast where the best of Italy and France meet; a place where sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot and shiraz find their home in perfect harmony, leading to the birth of wines with a certain charm, intensity and elegance. Rossi who immediately meet the tastes of an extremely heterogeneous audience and whose project is complete with the construction of the new cellar, a project projected Renzo Piano. Paul Panerai's wine adventure does not stop at Tuscany alone. It is in Sicily that are subsequently born Feudi del Pisciotto and Gurra di Mare. The first one is between Caltagirone and Piazza Armerina: about forty hectares of vineyards cultivated above all in black Avola for a cellar characterized by the historic palmento, where it was vinified already in the days of the Greeks and Romans. The second one near Porto Palo, the ancient port of Selinunte, in one of the richest areas of Sicily's history, a place that delivers warm white wines.
