Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'Dominè' by Pievalta brings to mind an old emporium in the area where people used to stop and taste a glass of Verdicchio. It is the wine linked to research, experimentation, the curiosity of always wanting to discover something new about this great vine. Straw yellow, it has aromas of peach, almond and grapefruit. In the mouth it is fresh, sapid and closes with a persistent mineral sensation. It is an organic wine, only substances of natural origin are used in the vineyard. Furthermore, biodiversity is encouraged to allow for a balance between all forms of life, plant and animal.

Pievalta is a young and modern winery in the Castelli di Jesi area, which in just a few years has become a virtuous model of biodynamic viticulture in the Marche region. It was founded in Maiolati Spontini in 2002 by Barone Pizzini, a famous production company in Franciacorta, with the aim of enhancing and best expressing one of the most important native grape varieties of Italy: Verdicchio.
The management of Pievalta has been entrusted to the young Milanese winemaker Alessandro Fenino, who has shaped the cellar according to his own sensitivity. The decision to switch from organic to biodynamic viticulture dates back to 2005 and was born, as Alessandro explains, from the desire to encourage the expressive harmony of the place, leaving it free to express itself without tricks and interventions: "biodynamic viticulture means bringing life into the vineyard by helping it to reactivate the forces that put him in relationship with heaven and earth".
The Pievalta vineyards extend for 21.5 hectares in Maiolati Spontini and 5 hectares in San Paolo di Jesi, one of the most suitable terroirs of the Castelli di Jesi. The management of the vineyards provides for the nourishment of the plants through leguminous green manure, backfilling, horn manure and biodynamic preparations, short pruning and very low quantities of sulfur from the mine. No adjuvants of vegetable origin are used in the production process and the wines produced also have the vegan vegetarian quality certification. These are expressive, clean dynamic and territorial wines: the biodynamic expression of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
