'Löwengang' by Alois Lageder is a 100% Chardonnay from South Tyrol, from organic and biodynamic viticulture, which comes from the best plots of the Löwengang Estate in Magrè. In the 1980s it was the first South Tyrolean white wine to establish itself on international markets. Left to ferment spontaneously in French oak barrels, and left to rest for just under a year on the fine lees, it offers an extremely balanced sip, in which the freshness of the fruit blends perfectly with the delicate tones given by the passage in wood. It is a textbook Chardonnay, a true masterpiece.

A true synonym of excellence, over the years Alois Lageder has demonstrated the best that South Tyrol is able to express in terms of personality, elegance and territorial adherence. A result born of a clear vision of one's work, in which each activity is closely linked to the others in a virtuous circle that has found fulfillment in the conversion of owned vineyards into biodynamic. Founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation: "quality is always the result of many details, sometimes even minimal - recalls Alois Lageder - and in all phases of processing we try first of all to find harmony between all the factors involved, working in harmony with nature ". It is no coincidence that every wine is able, like few others in the region, to tell what are the always different characteristics of its vineyard of origin - Alto Adige is in fact a land extremely rich in the variety of soils, in the microclimatic areas and in the exposures, which therefore offers the ideal conditions to produce wines with a marked individuality. The grapes harvested in the vineyards owned by the family, about 50 hectares between Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno and in the area of Lake Caldaro, are cultivated with organic and biodynamic methods certified by Demeter. Not only that, in addition to managing the vineyards owned by the company, the company collaborates with a certain number of trusted winegrowers who come from different areas of Alto Adige, vineyards that altogether extend for another 110 hectares, of which about a quarter cultivated according to the dictates of biodynamics. It is from this extraordinary context that wines are born that are real ambassadors of the territory, whites and reds of great charm that make up an assortment consisting of three levels of quality: the Classics, the Terroir Selections, the Masi.
