Alsace Sylvaner 'Vieilles Vignes' 2022 (750 ml.) - Gruss

With the Alsace Sylvaner Vieilles Vignes, the Gruss winery confirms its commitment to the production of quality Alsatian wines. For three generations the harvest has been manual and the vinification is carried out in steel. Strictly follows the rules of organic farming. Expressive, full and dry taste that remains aromatic and fruity even in persistence. A great Sylvaner.

The Gruss family is committed to producing quality wines from three generations. We are in Alsace, a region that, both culturally and oenologically, has many characteristics in common with Germany. The Gruss residents have been resident in Alsace since the sixteenth century, but in particular at the beginning of the twentieth century, Eugène Gruss started to buy wine. Later, Joseph, Eugène's son, following in part the way the father had chosen to remain active in the oenological field, but not practicing trade but by directly opening a vineyard, cultivating vineyards, producing wine and bottling it under his own name . The Domaine Gruss is located in the center of the village of Eguisheim, and since 2001 has started an important renovation process thanks to the young Andrè who, a highly competent enotecnico, has generated a vigorous managerial turnaround, renewing cellar and equipment, to be able to count on a future of the company even more prestigious. However, production is always dictated by "common sense": vintage is manual and vinification is carried out in old oak barrels. There is no magic in the cellar, but all the production processes are scrupulously followed. The end result is the result of a careful interpretation of the territory and faithful to the traditions. Among the rows, the agronomic standards that are respected are those of organic farming, so that no chemicals are ever used, but the inerting is practiced and only organic fertilizers are used. In full respect of what is the balance of nature, environment and ecosystem, they come to the harvest of grapes graceful, precious and concentrated in all their organoleptic nuances. In the cellar, everything is designed to respect what is the main objective, so that the peculiarities that the season and territory have been able to express in the clusters are maximized. These wines are simply exceptional wines: from Sylvaner to Pinot Gris, from Riesling to Gewürztraminer, from Muscat to Crémant d'Alsace, all really excellent labels.
