Sancerre Blanc 'Thauvenay' by Domaine Masson-Blondelet is a Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley that perfectly expresses the character of the magnificent terroir of Sancerre, great citrus and mineral freshness with sensations of flint. For the creation of this cuvée, only the best bunches are used from a vineyard of approximately three hectares cultivated in the municipal area of Thauvenay. Fine and elegant olfactory spectrum, characterized by aromas of citrus peel, white flowers, medicinal herbs, hints of flint and delicately smoky nuances. When tasted it expresses a beautiful tension, with a smooth and agile sip, which extends towards a savory and vibrant finish.

Domaine Masson Blondelet was created by Michelle and Jean-Michel Masson in 1975, but its origins are based on the ancient savoir faire of a family that has been cultivating vineyards in the famous areas of Sancerre and Poully-Fumé for six generations. The first historical evidence of the estate dates back to 1826, when Antoine Blondelet was already involved in viticulture. The property is located in the Loire Valley region, to be precise in the eastern area, known in France as the "central vineyard", due to its geographical location right in the center of the country. It belongs to the historic areas of viticulture beyond the Alps and is known throughout the world for the production of extraordinary white wines based on Sauvignon Blanc, the main grape variety of the area.
The property of the Domaine Masson Blondelet extends over a total area of 22 hectares, divided into different parcels, which are located in the best territories of the south, south-east area and enjoy a particularly favorable microclimate due to the proximity of the Loire and the Parc de la Nature Reserve. All the vineyards fall within the territories of the Appellation Pouilly-Fumé et Sancerre. The estate is managed with the utmost respect for the environment, with the aim of obtaining top quality, healthy and genuine grapes. Since 1980, no chemical fertilizers have been used and only organic fertilization foreseen by Biodynamics has been used.
