Directly on the banks of the Moselle in a fairytale landscape characterized by dark slate hills overlooking the river, the S.A. winery Prum is the ambassador of a winemaking tradition that has lasted for generations.
The search for the best possible quality is the mantra of this historic company, founding member of the VDP association, Verband Deutsches Praedikats, an association that brings together the 200 most virtuous producers in Germany.
The 22 hectares owned by the winery are largely ungrafted and divided between highly prized vineyards; the management of the vineyard is obviously aimed at enhancing the vineyard and territory with predominantly manual work and harvests carried out at the perfect stage of ripeness.
The winemaking is also strictly minimalist and linked to tradition, the fermentations take place in steel with the use of natural yeasts to enhance the richness and elegance of the raw material, giving life to incredibly deep and long-lived wines of international fame. These are wines characterized by an important acidity and a marked minerality deriving from the schist soil rich in slate. Since 1 July 2017 Saskia Prum has been the first female guide of such a prestigious winery.
