Eiswein (Ice Wine) Riesling Schneiderberg by Weinrieder is made in the Lower Austrian region, in Weinviertel. Weinrieder estate is located in the center of the Weinviertel region in Austria, an area of approximately 16,000 hectares of vineyards that makes the region one of the largest and most interesting areas for wine production in Austria. With around 20 hectares spanning the best crus of the region, vines such as Grüner Veltliner, Iesling, Weissburgunder and Chardonnay have found optimal conditions for development. The Birthal, Kugler, Schneiderberg, Hohenleiten and Bockgarten vineyards have become synonymous with high quality. The winery places a broad focus on the entire growth cycle, going to the extreme in terms of harvest while maintaining the high quality of the fruit. The soil gives the wines a marked minerality balanced with a spicy pepper aftertaste typical of this region. The work in the vineyards is constant and rigorous, the machinery used by this company is very simple and direct, for fermentation they use stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine without alterations. The winery is also specialized in the production of 'ice wine', where the bunches are frozen on the vine due to the rigid temperatures (minimum -7°C): this allows a strong concentration of sugars which makes the wine sweet and prevents the formation of molds giving the wine a marked acidity.
