Puligny Montrachet 'Les Charmes' by Domaine Alain Chavy is a pure Chardonnay and is produced from vineyards of more than 30 years located in the municipality of Puligny Montrachet and, more precisely, in lieux-dit Les Charmes, on the border with the lower area of the homonymous Premier Cru of Meursault. The grapes, harvested manually, are pressed and subsequently cooled for 18-20 hours before alcoholic fermentation begins. Aging lasts 16 months in French oak barriques. The bouquet is intense and complex, with hints of yellow berry fruit (peach, melon, apple) and citrus notes, followed by buttery and vanilla notes with a mineral and spicy finish. On the palate it is fine and elegant, with fresh mineral notes, rich and finely spiced.

Alain Chavy gained his experience in the wine sector together with his brother Jean-Louis in the family domaine Gérard Chavy et Fils, located in Puligny-Montrachet, in the Côte de Beaune. Following the retirement of their father Gérard, which occurred at the end of the 1990s, the two brothers, after having collaborated for a few years in the management of the family domaine, decided to divide the owned plots between them and create their own companies.
Thus, Domaine Alain Chavy was born in 2003, in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet: today the estate has 6.5 hectares of vineyards managed following the dictates of the lutte raisonnée and therefore limiting the use of chemical fertilizers as well as pesticides. All vinification takes place in the underground cellar - one of the few in the municipality of Puligny-Montrachet - built near the center of the town and decidedly cutting-edge. The grapes, harvested manually, are vinified separately depending on the vineyard of origin, with the exception of the very small village parcels: after pressing, they are left to cool for 18-20 hours before alcoholic fermentation begins. The refinement takes place in oak barrels and lasts for at least a year. The wines of Domaine Alain Chavy are spokespersons for the Puligny-Montrachet terroir and are characterized by their purity, elegance and marked minerality.
