The Antiche Cantine Migliaccio have been a staple of viticulture on the island of Ponza since 1734, when the Neapolitan king Charles of Bourbon entrusted Pietro Migliaccio with the task of planting the vines of biancolella, forastera, guarnaccia, aglianico and piedirosso, in one of the most unreachable and uncontaminated plots of the island: Punta Fieno. It is precisely this inaccessibility, which can only be reached by swimming or after 40 minutes of impervious walk, has over time discouraged local winemakers and only in 2000 did the vineyards of Punta Fieno return to their former glory thanks to the intervention of Emanuele Vittorio, descendant of the Migliaccio. The company uses modern techniques in the cellar with regard to crushing and refining, while for all the rest we wanted to remain tied to the traditions that provide for a natural approach, without chemical additives, and manual processing. The heroic efforts of Emanuele, and the climatic conditions, create the conditions for the production of unique, warm, mineral and intense wines, with a strongly Mediterranean spirit.

THE WINE
The Lazio Bianco 'Fieno di Ponza' by Antiche Cantine Migliaccio comes from one of the most unreachable and uncontaminated plots of the island of Ponza. Natural approach, without chemical additives, and manual processing to obtain only 5 thousand bottles a year. Unique, warm, mineral and intense wine with a strongly Mediterranean spirit.
THE COMPANY
One hundred and thirty hectares, of which 36 are vineyards, spread among the clayey hills of Civitella d'Agliano and the Umbrian plain washed by the Tiber. We are located in the province of Viterbo, in an area dedicated to viticulture since 1292, as shown by some historical archival documents. The Mottura estate belongs to the family of the same name since 1933, and has been managed by Sergio Mottura since the 1960s, under whose guidance the company has undergone important renewal phases, both as regards the new replanting, and as regards the cellar activity. Following the rules of organic farming, the strenuous pursuit of the maximum ecological balance is one of the company's beliefs, and even in the winery the vinifications exclude any chemical intervention, are the most natural possible. Revaluing the native vines and carrying out practical experiments on the field, those of Sergio Mottura are rich, inebriating, persistent, vigorous and enveloping wines. Unique and excellent labels, starting from "Latour a Civitella", the first ever white wine from Lazio which has been awarded the recognition of the 3 glasses by the Gambero Rosso guide on the "Wines of Italy".
EXTREME WINES: FIORDUVA
The “Vini Estremi” (i.e., Extreme Wines) are heroic wines, children of the hard work, sweat and industriousness of man; they are often produced in unknown, geographically unbroken, at times impossible areas, and cultivated in tiny plots of land snatched away from the mountainside, the rocks and the sea.
From Trentino-Alto Adige to Sardinia, from Valle d'Aosta to the island of Pantelleria, from Valtellina to the Amalfi Coast, from the Cinque Terre to the slopes of Etna, the ancient Enotria boasts a myriad wines that have survived wars, plagues and the scourge of phylloxera.
Grape varieties which, thanks to the tenacity and passion of certain small-scale but great winegrowers, have been plucked out of oblivion and are still able to offer the followers of Bacchus the most extraordinary wines.
